1. Introduction

This Privacy Notice ("Notice") applies to the Hitachi Energy Group of companies, which means Hitachi Energy Ltd, Switzerland and its subsidiaries.

At Hitachi Energy, respecting your data privacy rights is a top priority. This notice explains why and how we collect your personal data if you request access to our Power Portal, how we process such data, and what rights you have regarding your personal data.

2. Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?

Hitachi Energy Ltd and its subsidiary companies are responsible for your personal data. For applicable data protection law, the primary controller of your data is the Hitachi Energy subsidiary company with whom your employer has signed a subscription agreement for being entitled to have access to the Power Portal.

3. The types of information we collect and use?

We collect and use the following personal data if you request access to the Power Portal:
Your first and last name
Your email address
Your job title, the company and industry you work
Your state and country
Your phone

Aside from strictly necessary cookies to operate Power Portal, with the user’s consent we collect statistical data how you use our platform.

When you visit our site, we collect certain personal data automatically from your device. Specifically, the data we collect automatically include information, such as your IP address, pixel ID, device type, unique device identification number, browser type, operating system, broad geographic location (e.g., country or city level location) and other technical information. We also collect information about how your device has interacted with our site, including the pages accessed, current URL, time you visited the site and links clicked. Collecting this information enables us to better understand the visitors who come to our site, where they come from and what content on our site is of interest to them. We use this information for our internal analytics purposes, and to improve the quality and relevance of our site to our visitors. Information will be collected using cookies and similar tracking technology, as explained further in the Cookie Notice.

Our site uses Adobe Analytics in order to provide reporting, visualizations and analysis of data, but only with your consent. The Adobe Privacy Center is available here.

4. Why we use your personal data?

We process your personal data for the purpose of:

To administer and manage our site, including to confirm and authenticate your identity, and prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas of our site
To personalize and enrich your browsing experience by displaying content (such as sending you news-letters, inviting you for events, providing training, sharing relevant updates to our products and services, etc.) that is more likely to be relevant and of interest to you
To analyze the data of visitors to our site and site traffic information
To capture webmetrics about the journey of users within our site
To develop our business and services
To understand how visitors use the features and functions of our site
To monitor and enforce compliance with applicable terms of use
To allow for content download and use of trainings
To allow services and information to be delivered effectively to you
Any other purpose for which you provided information to Hitachi Energy

5. The legal basis we rely on

The lawful basis for processing your personal data is our legitimate interest in offering a service portal to our customers that provides relevant information and updates with regard to the Hitachi Energy’ products installed by our customers. The portal compliments our service offering, helps customers to maximize equipment availability, optimize the lifecycle of assets and improve operational efficiency and performance.

6. Parties we share your personal data with

We only share your personal data with other Hitachi Energy affiliates or third parties as necessary for the purposes described in this Notice. Where we share your personal data with an affiliate or third party so that it is transferred to or becomes accessible from outside the European Union (“EU”) and the European Economic Area ("EEA"), we always put adequate safeguards in place in line with the requirements of the GDPR to protect your personal data. To the extent personal data is transferred to a country for which the European Commission has not granted an adequacy decision, we will rely on the use of standard data protection clauses adopted by the European Commission (‘standard contractual clauses’).

7. How long we keep your personal data

We keep your personal data for as long as your employer has a subscription agreement to the POWER PORTAL. If the subscription agreement is terminated, we will delete your personal data within 2 (two) months.

8. Your data privacy rights

Depending on the jurisdiction in which you are located and in which your personal data is processed, you have the following rights:

The right to restrict data processing	You have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data in specific circumstances.
The right to data portability	You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format for your own purposes, or to request us to share it with a third party.
The right to object to data processing	You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.

Please note that the rights described above are not absolute, and that your request cannot always be met entirely. For example, sometimes we cannot delete or restrict the processing of your personal data if we are subject to a legal obligation to keep certain such personal data.
